Te Korōria: A Vibrant Café Cultivating Community Connection

The aromatic scent of Common Good coffee fills the air in Karori Anglican’s newly opened hub for community connection.

Te Korōria is centred on a dynamic café with a vision far beyond serving delectable treats. Its mission is to be a faithful Christian witness, dedicated to restoring wholeness and hope while strengthening the ties within the Karori community.

Community Enterprise Manager from Karori Anglican, Kate Harvey-Green, says “Our desire is to create an attractive community space that becomes a hub of connection and belonging.

“Guests can enjoy the comfort of excellent café hospitality in a warm and inviting environment.”

The café caters to all, from children seeking a fun and secure playground to students and adults looking for a serene workspace and opportunities to forge new relationships.

Te Korōria's reach extends beyond its Karori location. It seeks to generate profits that will be reinvested into the local and international projects.

Kate says, “As a social enterprise, we exist to contribute positively to the world around us. Sometimes that will be in support of local needs, other times it will go further afield to international projects.

Te Korōria is a way for Karori Anglican to bless and serve the community. It fosters healthy relationships, building bridges and safe spaces where guests can feel at home, acknowledged, and heard.

Already, the response from our Karori community has been overwhelmingly positive. The café has welcomed many curious locals eager to experience its peace and warmth, even amid the joyful cacophony of children at play.

For those eager to experience the magic of Te Korōria or become a part of its transformative journey, they need only reach out via hello@tekororia.org.nz.
