Level 1: Time to celebrate, time to give

We’ve finally arrived at COVID-19 Alert Level 1, where we can now safely gather together and strengthen the bonds of family we’ve developed online over the lockdown period.  As blessed as we are, so many around the world are still reeling from the impacts of the pandemic.  Our Global Response campaign is our diocese’s way of giving from the abundance we have received to our brothers and sisters around the world who are struggling to attain the necessities if life amidst the pandemic, and our bishops have encouraged us to give generously even as we celebrate the freedom to gather together safely here in Aotearoa.

Bishop Justin and Bishop Eleanor encourage us to find ways to have a celebratory get-together in our parishes, house churches or families – and to use this as an opportunity to share the stories of the four projects we are supporting, and for each of us to give generously.

Perhaps you could have a parish pizza party, a house church hangi or a small group sausage sizzle – but whatever you do to celebrate the freedoms we have gained, take time to give out of the abundance we have received.

Our Global Response campaign remains open for donations via the Anglican Missions website.  Click here to access the campaign page.
