Joining a Global Conversation

This week both Bishop Justin and I will take part in our third round of Bishop’s Conversations. These global conversation groups have been created as the pathway for the world-wide gathering of the Bishops within our Anglican Communion at Lambeth next year.

This year bishops have been invited to gather in created small groups for a six-month journey of listening and talking together. The focus of each conversation is shaped by one of the five marks of mission. You might like to read mine and other’s Bishop’s reflections on these conversations after our first gathering.

Last month we focussed on proclaiming the good news and each bishop shared a photograph from their own context of a sign of good news. I found it so encouraging to hear of the creativity of courage form around our Communion. A short video highlighted some of the themes from this conversation – you might particularly appreciate the innovation of roof-top church from India during a time of lockdown!

This week our conversation focuses on intentional discipleship. Part of our Diocese story is included in the video and in the articles created for discussion. So, may these conversations encourage you as we all keep learning and listening to Jesus’ command to be disciples and to make disciples.
