Godly Administrators Take Time to Retreat

Those involved in administration in their church or mission context are encouraged to express their interest in joining a Godly Administration Discipleship Group in 2024.

The aim of the groups is to equip, enthuse and empower administrators about Godly administration, who will in turn help lead future groups and disciple others into leading them. They meet fortnightly over Zoom (starting weekly for the first six weeks) and use discipling, team, and leadership resources that align with what is being taught at other leadership levels within our Movement.

Godly Administrators Retreat

A group of current and former Godly Administration Discipleship Group participants recently had a day retreat at Raumati Beach Church.

The retreat had a “covenant” focus: about our relationship with God and with each other. It was also an opportunity for those involved in Godly administration to spend time together, including for those who had only spoken over Zoom to be able to meet face to face.

Deacon for Administration Paul Carey describes the inaugural annual retreat as the latest “vehicle” in our Diocesan Godly administration ministry.

“The purpose of the retreat is to help us progress towards the vision of Godly administration that enables our transformative movement of local faith communities,” he says.

All Saints Church Manager Ginny McCarty said participating in a Godly Administration Discipleship Group had provided her with a safe space to process “the hard stuff” as well as exploring spiritual practices such as sabbath.

She said the retreat was well timed, coming towards the end of a year of her group operating.

“It meant we could share deeply because we had a culture of trust,” she says.

If you would like to express an interest in joining a group next year, please contact Paul at paul@anglicanmovement.nz
