Farewell Archbishop Fereimi Cama

With our whole church in Aotearoa-New Zealand and Polynesia we grieve the passing, last Friday, of Archbishop Fereimi Cama and continue to hold his family, and our Fijian brothers and sisters, as a whole, in our prayers.

Archbishop Fereimi holds a special place in our diocese. We have been privileged to hold exchanges with teams of young people in Fiji and have sent teams over to help with rebuilding projects.

Ven. Julie Rokotokala shares some memories. “He was an amazing leader. He was a teacher for most of his adult life which made him a very strategic thinker, and he really had a plan when he became Archbishop. One of his legacies will be his passion for liturgy and his commitment to the growth of the church in the pacific. He was a very humble man and had a special heart for youth. I will miss him greatly.”

His funeral service will take place on Friday 9th July 2021 in Suva and will be livestreamed from 8.30am onwards. You can connect with this at the Anglican Diocese of Polynesia Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Diopolynesia.
