Double the Quota: Politicians Pledge
Please join us and the Doing Our Bit campaign to show that even though this is an election year, New Zealanders aren't only focussed on ourselves - we want to do our bit for people wanting protection in New Zealand.
This election, the Doing Our Bit campaign will be asking MPs and candidates to pledge their personal support to doubling the quota. We think that if anyone running for office consults their conscience on the quota they'll find themselves in favour of doing our fair share. We're asking that the refugee issue is moved away from party politics and to the consciences of each elected representative.
On 15 June we'll launch our pledge cards and ask MPs to come out of Parliament Buildings and be among the first to offer their personal support.
On the 20th, Bishop Justin will speak alongside others at the event at Parliament, and all members of the Diocese are invited to attend to show their support, compassion and empathy.
