Bishop Justin Duckworth is pleased to announce Reverend Canon Katie Lawrence is the 9th Dean of the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul.

Bishop Justin made this announcement at the Cathedral on Sunday where he prayed for Katie, for her whānau and ministry in Wellington City.

“We are blessed to have Katie serve the Cathedral community here in Wellington,” said Bishop Justin.

“Her considerable skills and passion for Jesus are such a gift to the worshipping community here.

I pray Katie will know God’s deep love as she takes up this new role and responsibility,” he said.

Katie has served the Wellington Cathedral as Canon Precentor since September 2019 and has been Acting Dean for the last two years.

Katie says, “ I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to continue serving the Wellington Cathedral and her wider communities in the City and beyond. Ko te Karaiti te Waiora, E horoi nei, e whakahou nei o ngā mea katoa."
