Christian Studies 2023

Join us in 2023 for a range of courses designed to further your formation as a follower of Christ. Courses are open to everyone and most can be credited towards a Diploma of Christian Studies.

Enrolments are now open for the Christian Studies courses offered in partnership with St John’s Theological College. You can take courses for credit, and by completing the assignments work towards the NZ Diploma in Christian Studies, or you can “audit” the courses by attending the classes and doing the reading for personal interest - but not the assignments.

First up is “Bible Story - Old Testament”, starting with a block weekend on 24-26 February at Ngātiawa Monastery followed by 8 weeks of evening Zoom lectures. Don Moffat will be going through the Old Testament, a.k.a. the Jewish Scriptures. As Christians, we often feel a lot more at home in the New Testament than the Old. So many of us avoid the Old Testament because we find it confusing (or worse). But it doesn’t have to be this way! Take the plunge with this paper, so that you can feel more at home in the Bible that Jesus knew.

This is what one of our current student’s has to say about the Christian Study courses: “If you want to understand the basis of your faith at a deeper level, challenge yourself and take some papers! The lecturers are 100% committed to helping you grow personally in your faith and the insights are very rewarding.”

We also offer a number of other courses throughout the year, including EfM - Education for Ministry.

Check out the courses on our website or contact Heidi anglicanstudies@anglicanmovement.nz
