A joint outreach service run by St Peter’s on Willis and the Anglican Chinese Mission has been running for six months, and has attracted a significant fellowship of people from the Chinese community, ranging from their twenties into their retirement.
“What has been encouraging so far is that we are seeing new people attend the service each month,” says Daniel Luey, from the Chinese Mission. “Some of them are Christians, and others are non-Christians invited by Christian friends.”
As the fellowship from within the Mandarin-speaking community grows, so does the confidence of those running the services. Daniel says “they are utilising and developing their gifts and talents, learning and developing skills and experience to serve in outreach ministry and to meet members of the Chinese community.” He tells us that the services have been a blessing to those in the Anglican Chinese Mission, as much as they are to those who attend.
The next Mandarin Outreach service will be held at St Peter’s on Willis this Saturday, from 6:30pm. Click here for the Facebook event information.
