Rev Sarah McMenamin from our St John’s Feilding whānau was featured in a Stuff article recently as the church searches for the oldest Bible in Manawatū. As we get closer to National Bible Day this Sunday (15th of July), Sarah told Stuff that the oldest one they’ve found is from the 1850s – but she wonders if someone out there has an older one.
The Parish of Oroua are theming their Sunday services focused on the Bible – what it is, how to read it and how it is significant both historically and today – in honour of July as Bible Society New Zealand’s Bible Month.

STOP PRESS: Githa Warrington from St Peter’s Palmerston North has replied on Facebook saying that they have one that dates back to 1616!
