Reverend Catherine Froud, Parish of Northland-Wilton

Reverend Catherine Froud, Parish of Northland-Wilton

The Parish of Northland-Wilton, St Anne’s, are excited to announce that Reverend Catherine Froud will be joining the parish as Deacon Assistant.  In this season of growth, she will assist Reverend Paul McIntosh in the day to day running of the parish, through providing pastoral care, preaching, evangelism and helping equip and empower the congregation to fulfil their callings.

This will be a part time position beginning at the end August.  Catherine will be formally welcomed during the 9:30am service on Sunday 2 September, all welcome.

 Catherine writes:

I’m married to Jeff Sissons, with two adult children, Hugo and Isobel.  We live in Karori now, and are looking forward to being part of the community of Northland nearby.

I’ve been on the leadership team at St Hilda’s Island Bay for more than four years, and I’m grateful for God’s enrichment through different areas of ministry – particularly in preaching and teaching, and in the special working relationship with the other churches in Island Bay.

Previously at St Mary’s Karori, I was ordained Deacon in 2011, and served as Children and Families’ minister.  I also studied Theology at Laidlaw College while continuing to work in Communications roles in government ministries.

However, God’s call to ministry proved much more compelling – with its ready-made whanau of diverse followers of Jesus, and sharing life in His Kingdom work of healing and reconciliation.  It’s exciting encouraging others to come on this journey which is like no other, and gathering people for discipleship and mission.  I also mentor a weekly EFM group at the Cathedral, and will be undertaking some prison ministry.

At other times, I love to roam with my dog Mac over hills and along beaches around Wellington, enjoying God’s creation and conversations with other walkers.
