Sustainable Fashion Show returns, bigger and better

Sustainable Fashion Show returns, bigger and better

Our Cathedral family have announced the return of the world-famous-in-our-diocese Sustainable Fashion Show, coming to the Cathedral on Saturday evening, the 18th of August 2018.  If you haven’t seen or experienced the Fashion Show in the previous two years, you and your children are in for a treat.

The Sustainable Fashion Show is a unique and family-friendly opportunity for children in school years 0 to 8 (ages pre-school to 12/13-ish) to express their creativity, whilst also speaking a strong message around environmental care.  It’s also proved to be a great opportunity to build community amongst parish groups, and a great way to extend a “bringvitation” to non-church school friends.

As well as the children’s costumes, this year the Fashion Show organisers have added some new things to the mix:

  • The opportunity for children to work together to create a cope or cloak for their chaplain or teacher to model down the runway (this is your chance to be in the spotlight!)
  • The chance to create video and/or music content on their environmental theme to be presented during the show, which provides an opportunity for older children / youth groups to be involved.

With Rev Caleb Rowe set to the event’s MC for this year, and Sustainable Coastlines chosen as the beneficiary of the event’s koha donations, it’s set to be another all-round fantastic experience for your children.
