Team Training Day a “mountaintop experience”

Team Training Day a “mountaintop experience”

Our latest Team Training Day occurred in Palmerston North on Saturday the 23rd of June, with about 300 people coming from all corners of our diocese for a day of learning, worship and conversations over coffee and lunch.  Bishop Justin closed the day with an enthusiastic endorsement of what he called a “mountaintop experience” – noting that the day represented a significant cross-section of the diocese’s leaders and team members, and that there had been a strong sense of connection among the diocesan family.

The workshops on offer were well-received, with a diverse range of topics including leadership, discipleship, church growth, evangelism, pastoral care with the depressed, the use of te reo Māori in prayer, house churches in India, creativity, tree-planting, mentoring, church health and safety, parish communications, social justice, spiritual parenting, anointing ministry, science and spirituality, a community-building case study, international mission, and more!

A huge thank you goes to the parishes of Manawatu who hosted the day, and to all those who volunteered as site hosts to ensure the smooth running of the event.  Our next Team Training Day is only three months away, and will be held at Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in Karori, Wellington, on the 8th of September.  Make sure you book the date in your diary now!
