Pop-up store offers free clothing to people experiencing homelessness

The Street Store is an initiative run by the folk from The Freestore, a not-for-profit organisation birthed out of Blueprint Church in central Wellington.  On the 7th of June, the Street Store is running their next one-day pop up at Wellington’s Midland Park, where those experiencing homelessness or other needs can come and “shop” for second-hand clothes, for free.

The needs for the event are predominantly for men’s clothing, but women’s clothing is gladly accepted as well.  You can donate your quality, used clothing at St Peter’s Church on Willis Street, Wellington, between 9am and 6pm until the 6th of June.  Of particular need are:

  • Jackets and raincoats
  • Pants
  • Thermal underlayers
  • Beanies and scarves
  • Long-sleeved clothing
  • Shoes and boots
  • Sleeping bags
  • Blankets
