Vacancy: Senior Assistant Priest, Parish of Fendalton, Diocese of Christchurch (Closes 22nd June 2018)

The Parish of Fendalton is a large and diverse suburban parish with a clear vision for outreach, service and growth and with an active and very committed laity. The parish vision is “following Jesus and extending God’s love” and we have been seeing good progress in recent years with our outreach ministries flourishing, together with our evangelism, discipleship and small group ministries. The parish staff team is an energetic and supportive group consisting of both clergy and lay leaders.

The parish is seeking to appoint a Senior Assistant Priest to join the staff team and to support the Vicar by taking responsibility for a number of ministry areas. The person must be able to relate well to a wide age range, offer skilled pastoral care, preach well and have a proven track record in parish development. The person will be expected to work well in a ministry team environment. The successful candidate should have good liturgy skills and preferably have an interest in creative liturgy for special occasions.
