Vacancy: Parish Administrator, Parish of St Mary the Virgin, Addington, Diocese of Christchurch (Closes 8 February 2018)

Primary Role:
This role involves a range of administration tasks to do with parish life, including correspondence, service sheets, rosters, etc. Applicants would need sound skills in a variety of software including Microsoft Office applications, website development using WordPress, and the ability to record minutes at meetings. Systems are in place for the work involved and a modern laptop is provided with the position. While the majority of the work can be carried out at a remote office between Monday to Friday working hours, the vestry meets each month on the 3rd Wednesday night 7-9pm (approx.) and the administrator would be required for minute taking.

The role involves ensuring service material is in place for Sundays, maintaining links with tenants in the Vicarage, organising repairs and maintenance with contractors. Shortly the accounting tasks will be completed by the Diocese Accounting Scheme, however, a knowledge of Xero software would be an advantage. The main focus of the role is to liaise with clergy, wardens, vestry, and with parishioners and the community with good communication and administration skills. A background understanding of church and Christian life either in Anglican or other denomination would be advantageous. It is not a requirement of the position to attend parish services.
