From Wellington Hospital chaplains Rev Joy Hamilton-Jones and Rev Ross Scott:
On behalf of the chaplains, patients and staff I say a big thank you for to those of you who came to sing Carols on Christmas Eve at the hospital. As chaplains we were delighted to see so many people gather. Over 80!
You will have noted the warm reception from staff and patients alike as we went around the hospital. That was echoed on Christmas morning as I made my way around the wards. Your voices drifted down into each room and gave a lift to patients. When I told them that so many had given up their Christmas Eve to sing in the hospital; gratitude came to the surface with tears.
As I said on the night, what you did was one of the most significant gifts you gave this Christmas.
