From Patricia Cooper and Archdeacon Stephen King, Diocesan Refugee Resettlement Team:
As 2017 draws to a close we can look back on our second year of settling refugees into Wellington. The generosity of our Diocesan family and friends is amazing, and your kindness to help others throughout the year in their hour of need restores one’s faith in the people.
This month we have had the last refugee intake for the year and once again we have had a huge response to the request for help with providing household items, house setup teams and our growing family of checkers and sorters. It is inspiring what we can do together when the call goes out. The call went out and the response was beyond our expectation.
I hope you all experienced the joy of giving and doing for others as may before us have. If, by chance, you hear or think that someone has not received this letter could you please forward yours to them.
Thank you so much and we look forward to your continued help next year.
