Vacancy: Full-time Vicar, Parish of Geraldine, Diocese of Christchurch (Closes 31 October 2017)

The Parish seeks a Christ-centred, Spirit-led priest with a heart for rural ministry, and who is flexible in leading different styles of worship. Music, technology and outreach are present areas of strength. There is a need to grow the children’s programme further and develop youth ministry. At present there is an amazing Mainly Music presence for very young children. The challenge is to build on that strength.

Geraldine is situated in a very beautiful part of South Canterbury. There are five churches but only St Mary’s Geraldine has weekly services. The others vary from twice a month to twice a year. Geraldine is a key tourist destination.

A parish profile and an expression of interest form are available by emailing the office of Bishop Victoria Matthews of the Diocese of Christchurch: or by phoning 03 348 6701.

Applications, which must include a CV, a response to the profile of not more than four pages, and a statement about your faith and personal approach to ministry, are requested by 31st October 2017, and are to be sent to
