The Anglican Women’s Studies Centre is to host another hui in the “Treasuring Women in Ministry” series, entitled “Kia Ngawari – Finding a Wholeness.”
This is a three-tikanga gathering to be led by Tikanga Māori, and offers an opportunity for many to stay on the marae if they choose. The cost for the hui is only NZ$50 and this includes meals. All travel and non-marae accommodation is at the expense of each participant although there is a small fund available to help non-stipendary lay and ordained women to attend. This fund is on a first come, first served basis so please be quick.
Registrations for this event are required, and the registration form can be found here.
This hui is an opportunity for participants as three tikanga partners to learn and share in the experiences and ministry of Tikanga Māori and to discuss how each can adapt their own learning in their own ministry context and vice-versa. Finding wholeness through gentle ministry is something that all women can relate to and participants will hear from representatives that cover youth ministry, social services, societal law and justice practices as well as having the opportunity to caucus in tikanga. Participants will be led by each hui amorangi for morning and evening prayer and a healing service will be offered on the final day.
