This year over the Easter weekend a group of 300 Anglican youth along with leaders and camp parents had an amazing time at Central Easter Camp up in Fielding for five days of sport, music, community and GOD!
We came away with HEAPS of prizes including winning the touch rugby and volleyball tournaments, and gaining second place in the football tournament, as well as taking both first and second places at the EC’s Got Talent competition, again proving that we can punch well above our weight! We missed out on Best Dressed – a bit of a surprise …
This year we doubled in size, which was awesome, with 24 faith communities including our Anglican schools. Next year aim for 600 Anglican young people? To achieve this we need to start planning and preparing in June of this year, getting alongside the youth groups all over the diocese to get as many youth to this life changing camp.
The Anglican marquee drew in hundreds of youth from all around the camp (both Anglican and Baptist) as we hosted games, food, music and dance parties every night, ending on the last evening with an open mic night.
This camp was an incredible experience for all the youth and leaders alike, and we cannot wait to take 600 young people next year!
