- The Way Forward Document
- Mission Units Canon
- Structure and Function of Synod Report
- There are also elections being held at Synod this year, and appointments by Diocesan Council after Synod
We encourage all members of Vestries, along with any other interested folk from all parishes and mission units, to attend the Regional Meeting for their Archdeaconry. If you are unable to make your Archdeaconry meeting, you are welcome to attend one from another Archdeaconry.
Motions for Synod:
Any member of Synod or Body wishing to put a motion before Synod must send their motion, along with their submissions, so that they reach the Anglican Centre by 12noon on Wednesday 2 August 2017. Please include the email address and phone number of the mover, and the name of the seconder of the motion.
Development of the Programme of Business Book is a large task with time constraints and input from a number of people. The Wednesday 2 August 2017 deadline is important and late submissions WILL NOT be accepted for inclusion in the 2017 Programme of Business Book. They will be considered only in cases of urgency, and by leave of Synod, by giving notice on the first day of the session (Standing Orders of Synod – Section F1).
Leave of Absence/Proxies:
Synod members who are unable to attend Synod must write to the Bishop’s Office seeking Leave of Absence. A proxy may be appointed for any lay representative granted leave of absence. The Diocesan Manager must be advised in writing of any such change by Friday 11 August 2017 – please email Karen on email@example.com. Any proxies appointed after this date will not have voting rights at Synod (Diocesan Canon 20 – Section 17).
