Red Cross offers volunteer information session in Porirua

Many members of our Diocese have volunteered alongside New Zealand Red Cross members to set up houses for former refugees coming to Greater Wellington and Manawatu.  However these volunteers never get to meet the families they assist – this is the role of a Red Cross volunteer, and one of the many ways volunteers can help is by walking alongside new Kiwi families as they adjust to life in New Zealand.

The Red Cross now invites people living in the Porirua area to attend a volunteer recruitment information session at Pataka Museum this Monday, the 12th of June.

Here are the details:

Date: Monday the 12th of June, 2017
Time: 12pm – 1pm (light refreshments served from 11:45am)
Venue: Pataka, 17 Parumoana Street, Porirua

RSVPs are required.  Please email Marie Retimanu-Pule at Wellington Red Cross on marie.retimanu-pule@redcross.org.nz or phone her on 04 805 0305.

If you can’t make it but want to find out more, read about Red Cross volunteer opportunities here.
