Kids’ sustainable fashion event returns

Back by popular demand, Wellington Cathedral of St Paul is hosting another World of WearableArts-eque event, with the upcoming Kids’ Sustainable Fashion Show.  This is a free event for children to enter, challenging them to design wearable fashion ensembles made out of recycled material.  The items are then paraded on a catwalk in the Cathedral, reminiscent of large scale fashion shows.

Previous years’ events have shown this to be a perfect opportunity for young contestants to draw on the crafty creativity of other generations within their church, and for working together with their friends from outside the church.

This event is open to all in the Diocese – and to bless the parishes and schools in the north of the Diocese, the Cathedral would like to explore options for billeting with Cathedral families for those who would like to travel for the event.  To find out more, you can email Cathedral Events Manager Richard Apperley or phone him on 04 474 1551.

For full information about the event, including an information pack for contestants and a “save the date” poster, check out the event page here.  It’s time to get designing!
