The second intake of former refugee families into the Wellington region is upon us, with volunteers requested for next week’s preparation for their arrival. People are required to check and sort household goods on Monday 24th and Wednesday 26th of April, from 9:45am until 4pm each day.
If you would like to take part in a household set up, training is required which will be held on Wednesday the 26th of April, at Connolly Hall on Guildford Terrace, Thorndon, Wellington from 6pm, and is a requirement for any house set up volunteers who have not done it before. Collection of goods for your assigned house is from 7pm to 8pm at the Loaves and Fishes, Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. Set up of houses will occur from 6:30pm on Thursday the 27th of April.
If you or your parish would like to be involved, please email the Diocesan Refugee Resettlement Co-ordinator.
