Over 40 leaders from across the Diocese gathered in Paraparaumu recently for an intense training day on prayer, healing and anointing. The training was quite literally hands-on, with aspects of the day including the history and theology of the topics, the scriptural basis for healing and anointing, and practical sessions allowing attendees to work through the finer details.
Many questions were explored – not least of which was the question of “on the spot” healing. For example, is this something we should expect? Is it any less miraculous when it takes longer? Are we faithful or persistent enough, or is God inactive in this process? And how might He be shaping us throughout?
The day was full-on, and excellent work was done when attendees worked through case studies that served to equip them better in their ministry. Attendees praying for each other became a highlight of the day, which was beautifully begun with prayer and finished with Eucharist, led by Rev Michael Brantley.
