Commissioning of NZ Association of Anglican Women (AAW) Provincial President

Recently, at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, Pat Vincent (formerly Wellington Diocesan President) was installed as the new Provincial President along with members of the NZ Executive.  The Executive includes Presidents from the seven NZ Dioceses, the President of Polynesia and the NZ Provincial President of Mothers’ Union.  The service followed the NZ AAW AGM where the guest speaker was the Rev. Lola Koloamatangi, President of Polynesia shared her story as a counsellor working with women victims of domestic violence.  Pat is only the second NZ President from Wellington and was warmly supported by family, friends and members of AAW in the Wellington Diocese.

The Commissioning Service took place at Sunday Evensong.   The service was conducted by Rev. John McCaul and the inspiring sermon was by Archdeacon Judy Hardie with the very apt theme: Empowerment for Service.  The service began and was concluded with a colourful banner procession by the leaders of the various AAW and MU groups.
