The Annual Bishop’s Golf Day, playing for the Danny Te Hiko Memorial Cup, will be held on Saturday 2 March 2019 at the Foxton Golf Club, 111 State Highway 1, Foxton. Players will gather at 10.30am for an 11.00am tee off. This venue is no more than one and a half hours’ drive from anywhere in the Diocese.
The cost for the day is $20.00 per player and covers golf, food and prizes – come for a happy relaxing day out with Bishop Justin.
It will be a multi-prize event with prizes such as ‘closest to the hole’ on a chosen hole, and ‘longest drive’ on another fairway, etc.
The day will also be a Dio Day Out with non-golfers encouraged come to spend time in Foxton Beach, and the outlet shops and coffee at Otaki, before joining the golfers at 3.30pm for the prizegiving party at the Foxton Golf Club. For a list of activities, kindly prepared by Rev Jane Heyes, the Priest in charge of Shannon-Foxton Parish, click here.
All those interested in joining Bishop Justin for an eventful day or wanting more information, please email Rebecca on firstname.lastname@example.org with their contact details before Thursday 21 February 2019.
The first golf day was organised by Archdeacon Danny Te Hiko in 2013, before he died suddenly that year on Christmas Day after a short illness. He was a previous Archdeacon for Mission, Vicar of Churton Park and Vicar of Pauatahanui.
