The Threat of Religious Violence to a Democracy – 14 September

Today we are told that we live under constant threat.  The threat is not only to our lives, but to our very way of life.  This lecture will explore the threat that religious violence can pose to a democracy, as well as the threat posed by undemocratic responses to religious violence.

You are invited to an inaugural public lecture for Dr Derek Woodard-Lehman, Lecturer in Theology and Public Issues, University of Otago, hosted by David Clark MP.  The lecture will take place on Wednesday 14 September from 6.15pm to 7.15pm at the Beehive Theatrette, Parliament Buildings, Wellington.

Please note that attendance at this event is by formal invitation only, and you will need to contact ctpinz@otago.ac.nz to express an interest of receiving an invitation by Sunday 14 August.  Formal invitations will be sent out in mid-August and you must RSVP directly to Dr Clark’s office at Parliament upon receiving your invitation.
