New Governance Model for the Parish of Ruapehu

New Governance Model for the Parish of Ruapehu

At their AGM on 14 February the Parish of Ruapehu adopted a new model of governance, and this has been approved by Management Committee under the terms of clause 7A of the Diocesan Parishes Canon.

Under the new model the parish is led by Alison Seifert as Bishop’s Warden in Charge and a leadership team appointed by Alison, comprising Reverend Sam Bate, Reverend Elizabeth Penny, and Kathryn Greenwood.  They, together with Jane Sherrit who has been elected as People’s Warden, will exercise all the responsibilities of a vestry.

An intentional discipleship process together has been an important part of getting to this point, and will be a significant feature of the life of the team going forward.

Archdeacon Stuart Goodin commissioned the team at a service at St Mary’s, Raetihi on 28 February.
