We are writing to you from the Citizens Advice Bureau Wellington to tell you about a new service we are offering which would be of interest to any of your church community’s families who are newcomers to New Zealand.
CAB has a contract with Immigration NZ to offer an information service for newcomers. This involves being available at any of our five branches (Central City in the Library and in the community centres in Johnsonville, Karori, Newtown and Kilbirnie) to provide information to newcomers and to answer any queries they may have. We also run information sessions for newcomers throughout the year on topics such as the education system, the health system, employment opportunities and assistance, the tax system, ACC, the education system and consumer law.
People wanting information can come into one of our branches or they can phone us or contact us via our website www.cab.org.nz which also has information about upcoming information sessions.
Apart from this special focus, we are a valuable resource for everyone in the community. We provide free and confidential information, advice and support to anyone on anything.
