This past Saturday, our Diocese hosted a training day to share ideas and learning about ministries with our older saints. Our friends at St Matthew’s, Palmerston North displayed generous hospitality as they welcomed 47 people from across the Diocese —from as far away as Raetihi, Wellington South, and Masterton.
It was a fabulous day. Reverend Amy Houben shared her experience and passion for ministry with and alongside the “Older Adult.” She spoke of a “bubbling up of the good news story” that we each can offer to our sometimes-frail elderly friends. Amy also showed how caring for our own spiritual life is the key to ensuring we minister from a place of strength. We all found nuggets to take with us into our ministries.
