Self-care, refreshment and identity with God, ourselves and others, ‘A Place to Stand’ was the theme for our retreat held at The Home of Compassion, in Island Bay last weekend.
With her natural humility and gentleness, Reverend Judith Wigglesworth lead us to places of discovery and nourishment with God. With creativity and generosity the invitation took us deeply into meeting closely with God, with ourselves and finally equipping us to be with others in our ministries and families.
The NZPB identifies the diaconal call to be one of not only serving but searching for the needs and care of others. With Judith’s care and compassion and the provision of a grant from The Wallis Trust, and the unfailing hospitality of the staff at The Home of Compassion we have been able to experience a rich rhythm of spiritual pampering to equip us for the year ahead.
