The one thing that is constant in life is change. Change can be the result of such things as separation, relocation, loss of employment, or loss of freedom, as well as death.
Seasons for Growth is an education programme which explores the effects of change, loss and grief. The programme recognises that change often hurts and can be confusing, frustrating or threatening. It also recognises the need for support in understanding and coping with the effects of change and loss.
Seasons for Growth provides a safe, creative way to explore these issues, using the images of the Seasons (autumn, winter, spring, summer) to work through the ideas and “tasks” covered by the programme. It looks at how change and loss can affect us, gives you an opportunity to share your stories and explores feelings and how to manage strong feelings. We’ll discuss the idea of forgiveness and what it may mean to each of us, as well as the importance of memories and support networks.
Seasons for Growth is not counselling or therapy but it is therapeutic.
There will be a programme (four weekly sessions) starting on Thursday 5 March, 5.30 – 8.30pm, at the Catholic Centre, 22-30 Hill Street, Thorndon. Cost is $30 covering materials and research. For more information or to register, please contact Katrin Eickhorst, 021 374 405, email@example.com. Registrations close 26 February.
