On the last night of October, Silverstream Park was buzzing with the biggest light party crowd St Mary’s has seen in three years of running the event. As well as candyfloss, face painting, games and stalls, there was a ‘freedom lounge’ where a group prayed for people and prophesied over them. Two people came to faith.
The church did prayer walking in the park for a week before the event and saw the expected rain disappear from the forecast. The party drew in a wide range of people in the community. Vicar James Coleman said “Some gang members were having a blast and had gone all-out dressing up … As you can see from the pictures, God is good.”
