Cathedral launches fair-trade gift shop

Our Cathedral whānau will be re-opening their gift shop focused on fair-trade items, with the grand opening to feature a one-act play about William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade.  The play is entitled The Walk, by playwright Murray Watts, and performed by Rev Caleb Rowe.

The Cathedral’s Pixie Rowe said “This is a great way to explore how we can express even more of God’s love and fairness for all, and a great opportunity to invite friends who don’t come to church to enjoy the Gospel welcome offered by the Cathedral.”  The Cathedral gift shop places emphasis on the importance of looking after our world and those who live in it by stocking fair-trade, sustainable and locally produced gifts and church resources.

The evening will include fair-trade hot drinks and desserts as well as a chance to browse the shop. Tickets cost $12 and are available for purchase by clicking here.
