Vacancy: Vicar, Parish of Woodend-Pegasus, Diocese of Christchurch (Closes 31st August 2019)

This role is part-time (70%).

A picturesque, whitewashed Anglican church sits shyly back from State Highway One as it rolls north out of Woodend. But St Barnabas is more than meets the eye, and is home to a diverse, vibrant and quickly-growing family of faith.

Our Parish is committed to community. To being a worshipping community, a discipling community and ‘Jesus with skin on’ to the community around us – the community of Woodend, Pegasus and the large Ravenswood development currently under construction.

We are looking for a vicar who is energetic and sympathetic to the needs of all age groups. Who is able to open new connections in the growing community, and is able to sustain and expand the existing connections. Who has a strong liturgical base, but is open to taking risks with new styles and approaches in worship, and is able to build on the existing diversity of worship styles.

A parish profile and an expression of interest form are available by emailing the Executive Assistant at the Diocese of Christchurch: or by phoning 03 348 6701.

Applications, which must include a CV, a response to the profile of not more than four pages, and a statement about your faith and personal approach to ministry, are requested by 4:00pm Thursday 31 October 2019 and are to be sent to
