Rev John McCaul has entered his second “retirement,” having been farewelled from the Cathedral community last weekend. John came to the Cathedral seven years ago under Dean Frank to help, having already retired – and has been going strong since then!
He is a son of our diocese, having grown up in a clergy family in the diocese. He then began teaching in Wellington before training at St John’s and then serving curacy and incumbencies in the diocese and latterly as chaplain at Hutt Hospital and as Bishop Tom’s chaplain.
In retirement, he has worked tirelessly as an archivist for our diocese, the WIT library, as well as for the province and the UCANZ board and others. John will be hugely missed in the diocese and cathedral communities.
John has plans to move to Auckland. We wish him well in his future endeavours.
