Wellington’s Home of Compassion is to host a weekend-long Taizé event full of worship and workshops, on the theme of “Remembering Hospitality.” The Home of Compassion has partnered with Br Matthew, from Taizé, who will be in New Zealand to help run the weekend, which will run from the 15th to the 17th of November. As with all things Taizé, there is a particular desire to encourage youth to be involved, but wider attendance is also welcomed. The flyer attached here gives more details.
There will be an additional opportunity for people to meet Br Matthew, and to experience Taizé prayer, at the end of that weekend, at St Peter’s Anglican Church, 211 Willis Street, in Te Aro, Wellington, on Sunday 17 November.
At 5pm there will be an opportunity for any musicians who wish to participate, to run through music for the 7pm prayer service.
At 6pm all are welcome for soup and savouries, followed by viewing of a short film about Taizé and a chance to hear Br Matthew and share in conversation.
At 7pm the service of prayers, and music and silence will begin.
Please RSVP to email@example.com for catering purposes, and for musicians to inform us which instrumental part you will need.
