Former refugee family: trepidation turns to excitement in new home

The Red Cross passed on to our Refugee Resettlement Co-ordinator, Patricia Cooper, this heart-warming story recently.  A family from a refugee background arrived in Wellington and were amazed by the household goods they received.

The family’s Red Cross volunteer told us that the two girls were absolutely delighted when they discovered their toys, and spent quite some time exclaiming over each new item and showing them off to each other.

The family felt some trepidation about coming to Wellington, but after seeing their new home have expressed how welcomed they felt.

An excellent start for this family in their new city!
