From: the Electoral Commission
The local elections are being held in October this year when we choose who will be on our local councils and health boards. It’s an important choice because councils and health boards make decisions about services we use every day like hospitals, buses, rubbish collection, parks and pools.
The local elections will be held by postal vote, so people need to be enrolled correctly by 16 August to get their voting papers in the mail.
You can help spread the word in your whānau and local community that you need to be enrolled and listed at the right address to vote in the local elections.
Get posters and brochures to use around your community, such as in your workplace, community centre, church or school, or you can download banners to share online.

Together, we can make sure that everyone is enrolled and ready to vote!
