Rubbish Revolution: one month in

Elise, Maggie and Emily from Mt Cook Urban Vision team: “Our flat did another waste audit. We [aim] to limit our kerbside rubbish to 1 bag per 2 months. We are also on a mission to practice grace not guilt.

Barbara from St Michael’s Kelburn:  “What a month it has been. I have discovered Bin Inn and love it. I’m also making fresh bread which is just delicious… Our goal is to have minimal waste for the yellow rubbish bags… and one day do without them altogether!”

Cherie Haughton from Paremata: “Here’s a pic of last week’s shop… so satisfying to come back from our favourite green grocer, here in Porirua, without a single bit of packaging.”

Kate from Newtown: “Our flat swapped our rubbish bin for a jar so we can see what we send to landfill. After 2 weeks the lid wouldn’t close – turns out you can’t compress soft plastic forever!”

Some Rubbish Revolutionaries showed support for The Kiwi Bottle Drive and the Product Stewardship Council by running a Bottle Drive on Lambton Quay, then turning up to support their submission to Select Committee. Learn more
