Another council responds to Anglican advocacy, votes for Living Wage

Porirua City Council is the fifth territorial authority in New Zealand to vote to pay the Living Wage to all of its employees, and Anglicans from across Porirua have been instrumental in advocating for this move.  Rev Cath Growcott and Rev Jenny Dawson have been participating in the campaign to the Council for some years now, with regular attendances at Council meetings, many meetings with the mayor, and even occasions of the mayor visiting to preach at church.

The new pay rates take effect in February.  Well done to all involved!
