The Reverend Michael Brantley has advised Bishop Justin and Bishop Eleanor of his acceptance of a call and invitation from Bishop Peter Carrell of Christchurch Diocese to become Vicar of St Christopher’s Parish in Avonhead, Christchurch. Michael will conclude his ministry at St Luke’s on 31 July, and move to Christchurch during mid-August with his installation happening on 10 September.
Michael and Susanne returned to Wellington in December 2014 and returned to worshipping at All Saints in Hataitai. Michael joined the Diocese with over 20 years in ordained ministry from other traditions, and brought these experiences to the fore while serving in several roles in the Diocese and parishes. During Michael’s time here, he also facilitated the past three Lenten Devotionals, created the College of Preachers, worked with young adults, and did innovative mission and evangelism-piloted experiments.
Michael has been a regular speaker at Diocesan Training Days, has served as a Police Chaplain at Wellington Central Police Station and on the Board of Church Army New Zealand.
We wish Michael and Susanne all the best in their next season of ministry.
