Wellington “is the place of the possible” (Lauris Edmond.)
Do you wish to be the spiritual leader of a parish with a team of motivated, caring and open Christians?
Are you wishing to experience joyful worship?
Are you willing to explore new models of ministry?
St Barnabas Anglican parish is located in the beautiful suburbs of Roseneath and Oriental Bay, adjacent to the centre of Wellington City. Our church is 111 years old, wooden Gothic, recently restored and reroofed. We have a parish lounge and vicarage built in the 1970s, both having the best harbour views in Wellington.
The parish is small yet vibrant and growing; our parishioners gather from across the Wellington region and enjoy a modern catholic liturgy that is supported by a choir and organ. We encourage our parishioners to offer support and friendship to one another and to the wider community, and we are noted for our inclusivity and hospitality.
We are looking forward to welcoming a new Priest in Charge who can mentor, nurture and encourage our parish as we worship together. The position is .5 to .7 dependent on negotiation with the preferred candidate. The role could be held in conjunction with another part-time position.
Parishioners have recently held a planning meeting to refresh the five parish goals and develop actions.
