Recently, the Pathfinders programme launched for 2019 with 16 young adults at Ngatiawa River Monastery. Pathfinders is run by the Young Adults Enabler, Rev Scottie Reeve to provide development and support to emerging leaders in our movement. Participants came from a variety of parishes and ministries, with a large contingent from both Anglican Youth Movement and Blueprint.
The programme runs throughout 2019 with three streams focussing on spiritual formation, leadership, and Anglican kaupapa. Pathfinders will also be present at key moments in the diocesan calendar such as Team Training Days and The Abbey national youth leaders’ conference.
The weekend finished with the team spending two hours in prayer and worship, and anointing one another with oil for their place of leadership in our movement.
Some comments from participants were:
- “This is such a beautiful crew who are eager to share their lives and faith together. I found this to be such a humbling, encouraging and peace-filled time.”
- “I loved praying for each other, putting down a hangi together, and being at Ngatiawa for the first time was amazing.”
