Helping former refugee women to learn to drive

Our friends at ChangeMakers Refugee Forum are once again running a programme to assist women from refugee backgrounds to gain their New Zealand driver licences, thus gaining a bit more mobility in their new country.  To do this, they seek women in the Porirua and Hutt areas to volunteer to go for driving practices with the women, who already have their learner licence and their own car, but are practicing for their restricted licence.

Full training is provided for volunteers, and this will be held on Saturday the 9th and Saturday the 16th of March from 10am to 12:30pm.

Full information is available on our Refugee Resettlement page: movementonline.org.nz/refugee, or you can contact ChangeMakers directly: contact Mylène or Susan on ttc@crf.org.nz or 04 801 5812.
