Reverend Annette Cater, Parish of Tawa-Linden

We are pleased to announce that Reverend Annette Cater will be joining the staff team of Tawa Parish as Priest Associate, beginning February 2019.  The Tawa Parish is looking forward to the ongoing development of the clergy and staff team, and Annette’s presence will bring fruition to that hope as the congregation continues to explore its mission and voice in the Tawa/Linden community.

Annette is currently Interim Priest in Charge in the Parish of Roseneath, a position she has held since 2017.  In 2016 Annette served as Interim Priest in Charge in the Parish of St Peter’s on Willis, Wellington, and from 2014 to 2015, she was Priest in Charge of the Cooperating Parish of Brooklyn.

Annette writes:

Kia ora e tātou katoa!  Ko Annette tōku ingoa.  Ko Philip tōku hoa tāne, ko Bethany tōku tāmahine.

I’m in my mid-thirties with a young family and 17 years of experience in paid ministry positions.  Born and raised in Upper Hutt, I am no stranger to the Wellington Diocese.  After nine different appointments across Christchurch and Wellington, God is calling me and my family to ground ourselves in a community for a longer season.  This would be a new challenge for me and I am excited about the potential to go deep with the Tawa parish and its mission focus.  We have been living in Tawa for the last six years and being able to have such a short commute will be quite the novelty!

I have always longed to work in a team environment, and the opportunity to join Digby Wilkinson and the rest of the crew at Tawa is going to be fantastic.  Continuing to be part of the Wellington Diocese is a bonus.  May God bless us all in this new season of ministry.
