Church opens for fling in Foxton

Parishioners of our Foxton All Saints whānau provided free refreshment and family entertainment at the recent Foxton “Spring Fling”. With the church being sited directly beside the market, our whānau there have for several years transferred their usual service to Saturday, so they can connect with the local community and serve tired parents and market goers. Over 200 cuppas were poured,  biscuits were eaten, more than 100 children enjoyed the bouncy castle or stacked giant blocks. Great conversations were had as parents sat to watch their children play or picnicked on the grass outside the church. Inside the 142-year old church, visitors admired the stained glass windows, lit prayer candles and wrote prayers to be hung on the prayer tree. “It was a great way to share our generous God with others,” says Rev Jane Heyes, Priest in Charge in the Parish of Shannon-Foxton.
