“Camp to Nowhere” takes over Cathedral at night

On the 6th and 7th of October, 17 intermediate-aged young people from across our movement launched into Camp to Nowhere – a camp based in Wellington with a focus on Christian mission in the city.  Over the 24 hour period, the group (including eight leaders) engaged with the Freestore, Newtown Park Urban Vision team, City Mission Drop-in Centre, Seafarers, and Lyall Bay Community Church (and their monthly beach clean up).  One highlight included an interactive game at the City Mission which gave the young people a new perspective on the financial challenges many people face living in here in Wellington. Participants seemed to enjoy the camp, the opportunity to build forts, explore the nooks and crannies of the Cathedral, stay up long past their bed time, and explore the vibrancy of Christian mission in the city.
